Framer vs Webflow

Choose Framer for fast, design-led publishing. Choose Webflow when structured content, CSS-like control, and an export path matter more.

Framer: design speed with hosted convenience

Framer is strongest when the work is primarily visual and the fastest route from design to a live marketing page is the priority. Custom code can extend a site, but the publishing model remains tied to Framer’s infrastructure.

Webflow: more structure, more web concepts

Webflow’s model maps more visibly to classes, layout systems, structured CMS collections, and dynamic pages. That brings more control and more concepts to manage. Its code export is a real differentiator, but it is not a full export of Webflow’s hosted CMS, ecommerce, accounts, search, or form processing.

The ownership question

If self-hosting exported static code is a requirement, Webflow is the viable option of these two—provided the project does not rely on features excluded from export. If hosted convenience is acceptable and speed matters most, Framer’s lack of HTML export may not be a practical problem.
